Solved ADATA Superior SH93 HDD not recognised on pc

July 22, 2011 at 12:35:10
Specs: Windows Vista
My ADATA SH93 500GB HDD is not recognised on my laptop or main PC. The blue light comes on when connected by usb and the laptop makes a deep beeping noise when usb connected/disconnected but I cannot access any files or even read what is on there. It is recognised in the disk management but as unallocated space.
I obviously need to access my files on there as all my pics are on it and they are the most important thing to me so any help would be greatly appreciated

Snowkatt, did you find a solution for that problem of yours?

See the info at the link in response 1.

Your problem is not unique to this specfic external hard drive model.

If you haven't dropped it, you have probably damaged the data on the drive yourself when you unplugged it while Windows was running by NOT using Safely Remove Hardware to STOP accessing the drive BEFORE you unplugged it. Usually that problem can be fixxed by using certain data recovery programs.
