ADATA CLASSIC CH11 external HDD is not recognized

Specs: Windows 7
Hi! My ADATA CLASSIC CH11 is not recognized by either PC or MAC. I see a light turnt on and i hear it spin but i cannot open it in my computers. Also it used to work before.

Does it show up in 'disk management'? Did anything happen to it since you last used it--maybe it got dropped?

Yea, Disk Management is where to look. If it shows up as RAW then the file system is corrupted. Usually can be repaired if that is the case.

I also have this problem. I use a Macbook Air. The Adata Classic 11 previously worked. Light is on and it is buzzing, but I cannot see it on my Mac. What has changed?

My guess is it's gone bad and although it's a hardware issue you should probably start a new thread in the Mac OS forum:

as someone there likely will be familiar with Mac-specific recovery procedures--if recovery is possible.
