Comment:

I'm thinking of buying a new case, a see through Acrylic one. But I thought that because its see through, the processor/mainboard might effect near by appliances such as Sound systems, TV's. Does any one know if this is true?

Thanks.

No, that's incorect, the electrical noize won't travel thru the glass just because u can c thru it, and besides, the metalic part of the cae should make a good shield.
Have fun eith your new case! ;)

It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice...

Pull the side off your current case and put your tv or stereo next to the open case. Cheap way to test. Your mobile phone would be more likely to cause interference in that kind of equipment as it is designed to emit EMR. The only way your PC could have any affect would be if you have a wireless network card or router. and I haven't seen any reports on the forum about those things interfering with other appliances.

I think ghimpe is referring to a metalic case with see-through side panels. That kind of case is more common than a full acrylic.

Do they interfere now? Then they won't in an acrylyc enclosure.

Your most major issue is electronic devices interfering with your computer, not the other way around!

And it isn't an issue. I have NO side on my case, lol, and never had a problem.

If you do, just up your 'spread spectrum' settings in the bios. You shouldn't have an issue though.

The grounding issue isnt really a problem because its all grounded by the power supply, the motherboard is connected to the power supply and the power supply connects to the outlet which is therefore grounding the system, one word of caution acrylic cases are far more complicated than standard cases, it takes alot of time to get it right especially when it comes to tideing wires i myself am still not satisified whith my wire tideing, also dust buildup is a problem because its so much more visible so id advise the use of filters (something i need) and every time you go in you have to avoid leaving finger prints
