I need advice from someone who has experience with an Acer Travelmate 512DX about opening the case and replacing the CMOS battery. My CMOS battery has expired and I have tried but I can't find anyone who know anything about this laptop. Also, the laptop will start up if I press the F1 key as it says to do. Question: Will this work indefinately, or will it eventually stop working all together? The information that the CMOS battery protected is gone, but that hasn't stopped the laptop from working, so far.
