Hi,
I have an Acer Travelmate 240 which regularly overheats. I want to get inside to see if the fan/heatsink needs to be cleaned. I can't find a service manual anywhere, all i have come accross is the standard user manual and the FRU list.
I've whipped the screws from the underside of the unit and removed the battery. Now with the laptop in the usual position (as if you were using it) i can see under the keypad slightly, but it is still connected by what seems to be a plastic strip.
Please could anyone give me a step by step of how to get in there, or point at a site which has the information i need.
Thankyou in advance
Jim

Closest I can find is here: http://www.rigacci.org/comp/312T/disassemble/ but that's for a 312T. Don't know how much help it'll be...
Well, the site I found with the service manuals is down. I'll keep looking.

Update: Got lucky and found a couple of torrents with useful info. Three pdf documents, including pictures, which you can download from the links below. They're the service manuals for Acer Travelmate 210, 220 and 260. Couldn't find the 240, but this should help you piece it together...or rather, take it apart :)
Here's the links (direct pdfs): (~8MB total):

http://www.sharelor.com/v/3322421/1_tm220sg.pdf.htmlThe last one's huge, like 15 MB...I'll try uploading tonight, if ya want it.
