|I've had this problem for about a year now and now it's annoying.|
Sometimes when I press the power button, it'll turn on to a blank screen.
Then I have to hold the power button a few seconds for it to power off and try again.
Happens once every few boot up or restarts.
When it doesn't boot, I hear the hard disk spin, lights are on, fan stays blowing but nothing on the screen. I've shined a flashlight at the screen to see if it's the back-light but there's no image. So I know it doesn't load window, because I don't hear my start up sound either. Using a VGA monitor shows nothing as well.
I have 2 memory slots with matching 512MB in them. The rams are the correct type and passes memtest. If I remove one 512MB chip, it'll boot up every single time. Tested both slots with single chip, with each chips and it'll boot fine each time.
Using 2 slots seems to be the problem, but why?
