Acer desktop won't bootup

Toshiba / A15-s129

Specs: Win XP media center, AMD Athlon 64 x2/1Gb
Last thing I did with it was format a 20g IDE USB 2.5 external drive and copy all contents of MY DOCUMENTS folder to that drive. I put then put in the DVD drive a bootable CD with Acronis 11 and clicked restart. I intended to restore to an earlier disk image made with Acronis. I've done this a number of times before, no problem. When I switch it on, the fans start and run, and I get the three green lights on the keyboard iilluminate briefly. No beeps. I checked the CMOS battery and it was 2.79 volts, so I replaced it with another that tested 3.02 Volts. It gets as far as a screen with "ACER" and DEL: ENTER SETUP F12: BOOT MENU. Pressing either of those keys doesn't do anything.

Even though the symptoms indicate that that the PSU can't be completely dead, it may still be faulty. I had the exact same symptoms as you and a new PSU fixed it.
