Specs: Intel Pentium , 500 GB HDD
I plugged my headphones into my Acer aspire e:15 touch laptop today and it immediately shut down and now it won't start at all. When I hit the power button the blue led light comes on for approx. 5 seconds and I can hear the fan come on I believe but the screen remains black and then it just immediately shuts off and then continues to do the same thing over and over endlessly. I tried removing the battery, unplugging the charger and holding the power button for 30 seconds, etc. and still no luck. Has anyone been able to fix this problem or is my laptop ruined? Any help would be much appreciated.

It seems to me that there was a fault with either the socket or the headphones which has zapped something in the computer - unusual though.

I suppose it could have just corrupted the software. With the appropriate F key try to get into BIOS. If you make it then it is still possible that Windows software has corrupted and there might be a way forward. If you can't get into BIOS and never ever see anything at all on the screen then might first paragraph applies.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
