Hi - I need to replace the CMOS battery in my mum's old ACER Aspire 3003WLMI laptop. 1. Dont know what kind of battery it is;
2. Don't know where the battery is or how to get at it;
3. Cant find anything like a manual on the interweb to point me towards answers for 1 and 2.Can someone rescue me please?
Cheers, Sarah
Contact ACER support, if you can. There is nothing to learn from someone who already agrees with you.
Thanks dumbob -- I was sceptical about even beginning to try finding support from a computer company, but thought I'd put aside my cynicism for one more time. Would you know, an ACER rep replied to me! Not that it was helpful. "The battery is on the motherboard".."take it to a computer repair shop because we don't have a picture of the motherboard or instructions on how to access the battery".
Is this typically poor support? Is there some reason I'm missing as to why they don't want me doing some DIY on an out-of-warranty computer?
