CPU/Ram: Intel Celeron / 512mg ram

So I have an Acer AL1913 LCD monitor, I wanted to set the resolution at 1280x1024 with 32-bit color but when I try this in the display settings it won't allow 32bit on this resolution, only on 1024x780. Is there a problem with my driver or something, or can my monitor simply not display this?
