in a nutshell when i go to put my 6600 gt agp card with my abit nf7 m motherboard it doesnt post, yet when i put a fx 5200 in it runs fine previous posts i have put on here were regarding power for the 6600gt so i have a new antec smart power 2.0 500w suppy . Trying the card in another board with agp x2 cus the abit uses agp x8 it runs ok i seem to have exhaussted all my knowlage and my friends n familys knowlage.

spec

abit nf7 m motherboard
1 gb ram
2 hdd
2 dvd drives
antec smart power 500 watt psu (its heavy so strong rails)

i have gone onto the abit site to equire about any known issues but none

I believe your MBoard has IGraphics. When you run the 5200 do you have any issues with disabling the IG? I'm sure you have already verified the card is being fully inserted. Be sure the monitor is connected to the primary port. Does the card require external power connector?

BIOS settings to check:

AGP Frequency = 66MHz
AGP Aperture Size = 128MB
Frame Buffer Size = disabled
FSB Spread Spectrum = disabled
AGP Spread Spectrum = disabled
AGP Fast Write Capability = disabled
Init Display First = AGP

when you say IG do u mean the Onboard Graphics havent had any problems disableing it but ile double check 2nite

it uses a mloex connector to power it and that is secureley connected up, and the card is securly inserted to the agp slot.

Of the BIOS settings that I suggested you check, the "Frame Buffer Size = disabled" will disable the onboard video

ide like to be able to chk the bios settings but until the 6600gt lets me in i cannot do diddly squat. unless i put my fx 5200 card in

You do NOT have to have the 6600GT installed to adjust your BIOS settings! Drop in any old card you have laying around, or temporarily connect your monitor to the onboard...then confirm/adjust the BIOS settings, shutdown, & try your new card again.
