Comment:

hi, i've got a new pc with Abit IC7 motherboard and a leadtek geforceFX 5200 AGP card.

anyway, my pc failed to boot, cant even see BIOS. in fact, monitor shows nothing, says no sync and no signal.

i'm new in setting up a pc with SATA drive. som newb qns:

1. i pluged in the SATA drive, is this Primary Master? or is it irrelevant now? coz i put my dvd-writer as Primary Slave, shd i change this? (the IDE only connects the dvd-writer coz the SATA drive is on its own cable. is this correct?)

2. do i need to do anything in order to use the leadtek 5200 card? coz it seems the monitor is not getting any signals.

3. after pushing the power button, the motherboard beep 3 times, 1 long followed yb two rapid beeps. then it's dead (monitor shows nothing all the time). what shd i do?

4. do i need to do anything prior to using the SATA harddisk or the dvd-writer (need this to install win2k)?
i've reset CCMOS, i've changed the dvd-writer to Primary Master nad back to Primary Slave (changed jumper too). nothing seems to work.

ur feedback appreciated, especially som answers to my qns above.

thanks,

"1 long followed yb two rapid beeps."

That's probably a video card failure. Reference:
