Hey, I just got an A7V8X-X Motherboard and for some reason i cannot install the USB 2.0 Driver. When i insert the cd that came with the Motherboard i click the USB 2.0 tab and it reads:
"How to update VIA USB 2.0 Driver on Windows XP
Microsoft Windows Update lists all available updates on the Web.
You need download Windows XP Service Pack 1 because Microsoft
EHCI drivers are included.1. Update Windows XP Service Pack 1.
2. Right-click "My Computer" icon from the desktop. Select "Properties"
item while the menu appears.3. Select [Hardware] page and "Device Manager".
4. Double click on the "USB devices" node.
5. Select [Driver] page to update driver.
6. Press Next while the "Welecome to the Hardware update Wizard" window appears.
7. You can choose " Install from a list or Specific location" check box. Type or browse
the path {CD-ROM Drive}:\Drivers\USB2\WinXP_SP1 to the driver and then press "Next".8. Windows will then find the device "VIA Rev5 or later USB Universal Host Controller".
Now you can press "Finish" to complete the installation."I installed SP1 and everything and when the part where it says to double click the "USB Devices node" I cannot find that in the devise manager. But what i can find is either under "Other Devices" there is a category called USB Device and i go to those properties and it reads
"This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver."
So i click reinstall driver and point it to the cd and it says it cannot install!!
Sorry for the long post but i need to be able to use my keyboard!!!
Thanks

Hi!
What do you have to do?
Simple!
You must just to install SP1 from Microsoft Site.
That's all!
This operation is posible just if you have registered windows xp:)Regards,
Sorin

Yes SP1 includes enhanced USB support and other updates not available seperately to stop pirating, no problem if have registered copy.
