A7V8X Raid Configuration Question

Just got the A7V8X motherboard. Got 2 identical 60GB drives. One is connected to the Primary channel as master, the second is connected to the Promise Raid connector and is also set as master. When in the Raid setup utility, it says number of drives in this array as 1 only. Is this right? I successfully created the array but I'm just not sure if I've done it right. Documentation only confuses my more becase I'm still not certain about a couple of things. Do I have to have a serial ata hard drive in order to do the raid setup? Because from the documentation, that is what I'm gathering but I also know that is unlikely because these hard drives are somewhat new yet. I've read on the ASUS website and still I'm confused. I've searched around on the net for a how to for the raid setup for this motherboard but I've found nothing. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
