I'm having some problems with the Asus A7N8X-X and was hoping someone could offer some help.
When i try to boot up the pc, the fans start and i can hear the pc begin to boot, then it just powers back down after about 5 seconds. It never brings the monitor out of sleep mode.
I have tested the proccessor(AMD 2600) and ram (512DDR/400) in another computer and tried booting the ASUS board with a slower chip (AMD1800).
I checked all the jumpers, tried booting the board outside of the case (on a static bag) with the same resault. I reset the cmos and disabled the onboard audio.
Figgureing the board was just bad i took it back and exchanged it for another. Still having the same issue.
If anyone can offer any help.. i could sure use it. Thanks

I just bought a new A7V8X-X and have 2x256mb pc2100 ram, athlon xp 2700+, and a 400w psu. It randomly shuts off anywhere between 15sec - 2min. After it shuts off, I have to unplug the psu and wait for the LED on the mb to go off before pushing teh button will start it again. I need a solution too.

try looking at the CPU external frequency, I think its the 2nd drop down in the bios at the top. Your CPU External Freq is 1/2 your front side bus witch is either 333 or 400Mhz. So do the math and read your mother board manual on page 2-15 at the bottom =)
