Comment: Ok this problem is so damn weird.. I have one Plextor DVD-R and one Memorex CD-RW in the same system. The weird thing is that if I connect both of them together only my CD-RW would show up in BIOS and in windows. HOWEVER if I connect only the DVD-R then it WOULD show up in BIOS and in Windows. The DVD-R even plays my games and dvds without a problem. I already tried switching IDE cables. tried changing motherboard. dont know if this is a psu problem because my psu is 480w but the rails are kinda low(18A @ 12v) and i have a lot of 80mm fans plus a FX video card. Any suggestions??? FuRY

Reply: (edit)Jumpers..if you mean CMOS reset that is pretty useless because like I said before I had the same problem on another motherboard. The bios on the motherboard is also updated b.t.w Master/slave..plextor is on master while memorex is on slave. i tried switching things around but that didnt do anything. the slave memorex shows up as primary/master when both are connected FuRY

Reply: (edit)well.. your cd writer could be dead. pins broken and so on did your cd-writer light working properly? if it's ok, reset your bios and see any error message show up or not. check your motherboard instruction book. good luck!
