I've recently been having a strange problem with my laptop. Upon turning it on, it will occasionally make a strange, jagged noise that quickly alternates in volume (loud-soft-loud..) after about 5 mins, this will fade. This also happens, and for longer periods of time, and always, if I've been playing a game for an extended period of time. The actual performance of the computer is never affected, and I've checked my laptop in many ways, but nothing reports a problem, but I assume that there is something wrong here. Does anyone know why this happens, and if it is doing anything harmful to my computer? Thanks.
I have a KDS Valiant 6480.

Where does the noise come from? Speakers? Case? A clicking sound is usually a dying harddrive. Not sure what you mean by "jagged."
