Specs: vista ultimate 64 bit, amd quad 940/8 installed max 16
I'm just starting to get into biulding computers, and I need help. I built a amd dual core w/ 8 gig ram, weak and I mean weak radeon pci video card, with vista 32 bit, system rocks. runs my strategy game well. I then built a amd quad core, vista 64 bit 8 gigs capable of 16, running raid 0 on 2 terabyte 7200 hd. I thought raid was faster? rig runs okay but runs my same game s---ty? why, did I set up raid wrong? sound and graphics chop. onboard video card on mobo is better than the other computers card. Any help or suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

1st of all, you're wasting all that RAM on a 32-bit system. The max is 4GB with only about 3.0-3.5GB actually being recognized...anything above 4GB is totally useless.

I like how you say you have a weak PCI card (I assume you mean PCI-express?) on one system & onboard graphics on the other but don't bother to mention what either of them are?

You're not gonna find many people in these forums supporting your decsion to run a RAID 0 config.

A while back MaximumPC magazine did some gaming tests and found raid 0 did not help.

Using Raid 0 is really asking for trouble.
