Hi all I thought you might like to hear my latest attempt to build a system. I started out with an order to build a system for my sister. She asked me to do it as cheaply as possable and still have a ok system. So I went to New Egg.com and ordered the computer. It was a celeron 2.6 with 512 ram. Nothing special. I saw that they had nice cases for $28 so I ordered 2 of them. Total it came to about $450. It took one package 2 days to get here and the other 4 days. I then put the computer together and turn it on. It ran for like 5 min and the Power Supply burnt.So I took the power supply out of the other case and it did the same thing. I called New Egg and told them what happened and they agreed to replace the case cpu and mobo, but I pay shipping. Shipping came to $40. They also told me that they would ship my new parts as soon as they got my old ones. I told them I couldnt wait 2 weeks to get the replacements so I reordered the parts and had them overnighted to me.I also ordered another case sence the one had to go back and I needed both.I shipped the case normal Fedex. It took New Egg 2 days to ship the order like normal but it took Fedex 2 days to deliver the overnight package. I got both the overnight and case orders at the same time. When I got the order I found out that New Egg sent me the wrong part I ordered a socket 478 and got a socket T. Also the case was busted. I then tested the new cases power supply with an ATX power supply tester and nothing...DOA. So I called New Egg again and told a supervisor what had happend and he said that the earlist I could get the cpu was Monday. So I said no thanks just rma it with a refund. I called D&H and the guy I got told me that I would have it in my hand no later than 3:00pm today. I went up staples and bought 2 new power supplies totaling $115 for a 300w and 350w. 3:00pm came and went no UPS. I called UPS and they said that they dont deliver to my area on saturday but it will be here monday. This is sad that companys cant make good on what they sell be it part or service.

Sort of hindsight but... If you had a D&H account why in the world would you ever deal with Newegg to begin with? The pricing is nearly identical and you would have had none of the foolishness.

I know and I learned a good lesson

Though I have never has any problems with newegg myself i'm always open to checking out other online computer stores. What is D&H? ASUS A7V8X AMD XP 2700+ 2.17ghz 768mb ddr 2700 nVidia 128mb FX 5200 WD 80gb SE DVD R/RW

I've never had a problem with Newegg nor have I ever heard of anyone having a problem with Newegg.

the funny thing is that when I went to rate the cases they wouldnt let me because I had an unfavorable rateing. They said that it was a doa and couldnt be helped and not powermax's fault. Question then whos fault is it when three out of three cases have power supplys that only last for 5 minutes. I understand about not leaving an unfavorable post after one but this was three and I feel that their other clients should know. Brian
