9600XT vs 6600

the 6600gt is faster either pci e or agp i own the latter ,its performance is equivalent to a 6800 at normal game resolutions ie 800x 600 &1024x768
at higher res the 6800 wins due to 256 ram and higher number of pipes.

the 9600xt lags behind as its a bit old now. heres one thats currently pretty good on price (xfx) i bought, the aquamark result i got was 52 k so quite a reliable review.

According to tomshardware.com, 9600XT (VGA charts IV) will get 26fps in Farcry very high quality, 25fps Doom 3 high quality. 6600GT (VGA charts V) will get 60 fps Farcry very high quality, 68 fps Doom 3 high quality.
6600 GPU is a full graphics card generation ahead of the 9600 GPU. The 6600's direct competitor is X700, which both compare similarly.
Summary: ATI Radeon 9600 pro 256 mb DRR vs Asus N6600/TD/256 GeForce 6600 256MB DDR ill be playing some BF2 and some other games nothing all that great is it worth upgrading from a 9600 to taht 6600 ...
