Hi

I just recently purchased a ASUS K8V-X SE mobo and a Radeaon 9200 Graphics Card to upgrade my brothers computer. Reading through the manual for the K8V i came acrooss that the board only accepts AGP 8x/4x (+1.5V) cards.

I then read through the manual of the Radeon 9200 Graphics Card and it says the following.

AGP 8x (0.8V) / 4x (1.5V) / 2x (3.3V) or universal AGP 3.0 bus config (8X/4X/2X).

Will this graphics card work okay with this motherboard or will it cause damage to the mobo.

Greatfull for any help

Thanks Tim

It should work, as your mobo will accept 1.5v 4x cards, and seeing as the radeon is a 4x 1.5v, it should probably work.

My Rig:
1040Mhz Pentium 3 OC'd at 1.2Ghz
Aopen MX3WPRO-E mobo
Intel 810 chipset
Onboard Graphics Not sure how many MB
128mb RAM
120GB Maxtor Hard Drive

My Old Rig:
AMD K6 400Mhz

So it will probably mean the card will only run at 4x AGP, which isnt a problem. I really wanted to make sure that it wouldnt burn out the mobo or something like that.

Thanks Tim

Well, it definitly wont. the number before the X (4x, 8x etc) only refers to how fast the cards memory will be sucked up.
