Hi FF,

please explain how you have a Mousepad connected to a Desktop.

It can help with such queries if the Make and full model number of the device concerned are supplied.

With a Mouse (pad or otherwise) moving and clicking are different separate functions.

Have you tried a different (maybe usb or ps1) Mouse?

Good Luck - Keep us posted.

So sorry, entered that info but apparently it was deleted
Toshiba Satellite L775D - S7108
Have installed a USB mouse and all is ok.
Mouse pad will still move cursor bu nothing happens when you click on however for some things if you hover cursor over the box you can right click and a program may open or close.
Checked driver updates and all is good.

Hi FF, now knowing the make and model, your PC is a laptop, not a Desktop as the Thread title suggest. Although I now realise you are referring to the WIndows Desktop.

Although many are, I am not a fan of Mousepads as I find them fiddly, preferring instead a conventional Mouse. As an example I recently purchased a mini wireless Mouse in Italy for around £5 for use with a Laptop.

Another aspect is often Laptops require nearly complete dismantling in order to change a failed component. .e.g. I have a Packard Bell Easynote requiring a cmos battery like this. For the time being, I will live with the problem!

As a matter of interest, where are you based? I am in West London.

Good Luck - Keep us posted.
