Hey,
I have a Gigabyte 6600 256MB graphic card and an SLI motherboard. I'm quite low on budget so I can choose to buy another 6600 and SLI my system or buy a 7600GT and sell my old 6600, which will be a bit more pricy, but no matters.
What is better performance? And, which 7600GT is better, Leadtek or Gigabyte (these are the only 2 the shop here sells). Thanks in advance, Oz.

6600's in SLI will give you more performance then one 7600GT, but the geforce 7 series supports HDR unlike the 6 series... and if you buy a 7600GT you can later allways add another one which will give you the performance of about a 7900GT...

ummm, nope. A 7600GT will whoop two vanilla 6600's. Have a look at this chart, http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics.html?modelx=33&model1=540&model2=529&chart=196
The 7600GT does very well and easily beats two 6600GT's in SLI.

Oh, i was persuming he had a 6600GT.. two 6600GT's will give you about 6500/7000 in 3DMark05, a 7600GT scores around 6000.

Heh, sorry comper. But in the same charts the 7600GT still beats the crap out of the two 6600GT's in 3DMark06. Look:

As I said, the 7600GT is a pretty dang good card and Nvidia did a very good job, I would certianly reccomend it to anyone who wants an upgrade. It pretty much outperforms any 6 series card there is, with the exception of TWO 6800Ultras in SLI. Which is quite an acivement to me.

Ok i'm sorry maybe i'm wrong.. but i said this because i once had a 6600GT setup and that scored about 6500/7000 and my bro now has a 7600GT that scores 6000,
But it could be that the rest of his system is bottlenecking it and that it can do more than that...AMD64 San Diego @ 3GHz

I had two Vanilla 6600's and I have just upgraded them among other things to (for now) a single 7600GT and it's kicking the Sh** out of the 6600's hands down in terms of "real" performance in 3D applications but since it's proving noticably better for me, I havn't bothered to benchmark them nor did I ever benchmark my 6600's.
Seriously though, go for the 7600GT and upgrade to a second at a later date as will I.
