Hya All
I changed my Graphics Card recently to a 64 MB GForce2 Mx400, it works fine but only shows 32MB memory in Windows (and Aida). Follow up from Google searches reveal I'm not the only one with this problem, however, no explanations or solutions are offered. Nothing related either on the Nvidia support pages.
My AGP slot in BIOS is 64MB.
Anybody any ideas? Thanks.
Bill.
I'm Ok

"My AGP slot in BIOS is 64MB"
Do you mean the AGP aperture setting? It has nothing to do with how much video RAM is being shown in Windows. Aida is an older program...try Everest Home Edition. Is it possible that your card actually is 32MB & you got ripped off?

Thanks for the info, Sqirrel, I did reinstall the latest XP drivers, still reports 32MB.
Jam, cheers for that info, I did of course mean Aperture size, which according to your link and recommended BIOS settings from the Nvidia site, 64 MB should be right.
On first boot screen, the card is reported as 64MB, I bought it as a 64 (but could have been ripped off), Dxdiag reports as 32 as does Windows/Display Properties (Settings/Advanced - Both the Adaptor tab and GForce tab report as 32MB). Aida got it right (but I will download Everest).
"Follow up from Google searches reveal I'm not the only one with this problem". I'm still at a loss with this and would appreciate further comments.

If you bought it as 64MB & it shows 64MB on the boot screen, that should be what you have. The way you wrote it though, it appeared as if Aida reported 32MB...that made me wonder

This problem also occurs with some of the old 32MB TNT2 cards that should up as 16MB under Win2K/XP. I've also seen it happen to an Intel IGP that only shown up as 4MB when it was really 8MB.
To be honest, I wouldn't worry about it. Unless you're going to be playing 3D games it won't be a problem.

Default the bios. Then check it. It could be as simple as the bios still is reporting it to the os as 32megs. The agp apature is just how much system memory the video will "borrow" if it needs it.
I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid...
