hello all, this is my first post and i just bought some 512MB DDR ram and when i boot up it recognizes it as 256MB DDR ram. Can someone please help me?

Argh...MSI crap...oh well, you need to make sure you have the right density RAM:
"Note: nForce2 does NOT supports x4 memory device. 1GB can be made by other density of dram chip such as x 8, x16."
Quote from the MSI web site. That is likely to cause the problems you are experiencing. The other possibility is a mismarked stick.
