My 4 year old system has suddenly developed a problem. At the beginning of the day, when I first turn the system on, I get 4 beeps, and then nothing. The monitor stays in standby mode, the system is running (hard drive LED is on solid), but nothing is happening. So I reboot twice, and the problem goes away for the rest of the day. The system works fine all day. This problem only occurs when I first start it up in the morning.

Web searches about this problem have turned up all kinds of stuff, but nothing really specific to my situation; especially in regards to my BIOS. It's a Phoenix Server BIOS, and it only beeps 4 times. There's no more beeps after that.
The battery is brand new, all cards are fully seated, all connections are good, and all fans are running properly. Everything looks OK. My guess is that the PS may be going south, but I don't want to make any assumptions.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Your MBoard manual should explain what the beeps mean. There are both long and short beeps. LKook below for a chart on the beep codes. Appears this may be a fatal error.
