Voodoo2 are strickly 3d accelerators. They are totally incapable of displaying your desktop and those apps.

Therefore, you had to use a loopback cable from your 2d card of choice to the Voodoo 2, and then plug your monitor.

i understand what the first answer meant and in my experience it is right.
Monitor connects to one socket on voodoo2 card, and you plug a short lead into the other voodoo2 socket which then goes into the original monitor socket on computer.
The voodoo2 is not a graphics card in its own right, it is an 'accelerator' card.
it needs to be used in conjunction with the origibnal graphics card or on-board graphics.
Without the short lead its not much use.
At the risk of offending people who own one,I would say they are not much use even with the lead as performance wise they were left behind years ago.
I spite of all those memory chips, i think from memory that 12mb was the max.
(dont confuse them with voodoo3 2000 or voodoo3 3000, they were proper graphics cards in own right and much much better)

Cobra_R,

Are you sure you don't have a Banshee or Voodoo Rush?

There is no way you have a voodoo2 without a separate 2d accelerator. Not trying to sound mean, but I was a Voodoo enthusiast back in the day. ;-)
