I just built a comp using a shuttle case, 1024 ballistix ddr 3200, ati x800 pro, a 10k 74gb sata raptor, a plextor dvd sata drive, and a soundblaster 512. Sometimes it likes to restart on its own so i was wondering if i can get a more supplying powersupply but i cant find anything. I have a 250W right now. ty for the help.

250w is not even close to enough for your comp...seeing as all the stuff you got in there...i would say 400w - 500w would be good for your system. go to www.newegg.com they have the best deals.

the shuttle power supplies are quite different from standard ATX power supplies.

My shuttle runs fine with two hard drives on the standard 250w unit.

I would suggest looking at shuttle.com and visiting their recommended forums and obtain some specialist advise on these rather unique boxes.

I know of people running these boxes, with the standard PSU, with more hungry components than you have....so PSU may not be the issue.

The PSU is not your problem. The suttle 250w is made for set ups like yours. You may want to look in to heat as being the culprate here. You might want to modify your case a bit. One big modification is to cut a blow hole where your grapics card fan is and put a mesh screen there so it gets more air. Also, look in to replacing the stock fan on your shuttle heatpipe cooler. I've seen a lot of people use two fans in a push/pull config on the radiator (mount one on that outside that pulls the air from the radiator) Just do a google for modifing a shuttle and you'll find some great ideas.
