Comment: I have a Toshiba sattelite 2800 series laptop with a 3.5" audio/video headphone style jack for sending the audio/video to a projector or tv. I need to find out where I can find a cable for this task. I purchased a camcorder cable from radio shack that I thought should have worked but the video did not work, but the audio did. Is there a special cable for toshiba laptops? and where can I get one? I can't seem to find anything on the net that will help. thanks

Reply: (edit)I've never seen a jack plug used for video output - they need fill screening so phono plugs are more usual for composite video & most laptops use s-video (mini-din). Also, combining video & audio on a shared plug would create crossover signal problems. Are you sure you haven't got 2 separate outputs? "I know that I'm mad - I've always been mad..."

Reply: (edit)I have some older equipment that uses subminiature type stereo plug for audio and video, among them a small LCD display for camcorder playback and monitoring. In my case the Radio Shack type adapter cables work.
