Subject: 32 or 64 bit cpu
OS: winxp
CPU/Ram: 2.8,1.0,900
Model/Manufacturer: Dell
Comment:

I am trying to find out if a computer is 32 or 64 bit. Dell 4600

Not the software but the hardware.

Tried Test my hardware ,Dell ,cpuz ,Intel

Processor : Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz
Speed : 2793 MHz
Model : x86 Family 15 Model 3 Stepping 4
Processor ID : BFEBFBFF00000F34
Vendor Identifier : GenuineIntel
Socket Designation : Microprocessor

I have even looked for a small 64bit program
to test run to no avail.

Any thought would be welcome.

I could be wrong, but I think Intel's 64-bit CPUs started with the Pentium D.

Your CPU model is listed as x86...if it supported 64-bit, it would be listed as x86-64

Your Intel Processor is a Socket 478 Penitum 4, 2.8ghz Northwood core processor and all socket 478 desktop motherboards were 32bit only. So no your processor isn't a 64bit.

Jam you are correct all Pentuim D processors were 64bit.
