3 loud beeps no startup

hi was using my laptop just fine shutdown like normal and 4 hours later i press the power button and all periphs, dvd have power but the screen is blck keyboard unresponsive and i get 3 loud beeps... what happened??? i plug in external monitor and its in standby

3 beeps could indicate a keyboard problem or a ram problem. If it's under warranty, take it in for repair. If you know what bios it uses, you can google for bios error beep codes.

hmm makes me wonder now why laptop warranties aren't 2 years, seems like all the issues arise in that 2nd year of usage. i've had it for 2 years so no more warranty
