I have 2 pc's (a Compaq P4 and generic P3) using one monitor via a "Manhattan" data transfer switch. I had used one of these switches in the past, but have never had the problem I constantly have with this new switch. When I switch from the pc's (A to B) - the monitor will have lines across the screen with the message "DPMS...Going To Suspend".
This usually happens when going from the P3 (Windows ME) to P4 (Windows XP Pro) pc. I then have to switch back and forth a couple of times and it fixes to a clear image.
Both pc's power settings; the hard drive, monitor, standby are all switched to "never" shut off. Both pc's have a display setting of 800 by 600 pixels.
The P4 has an Intel task bar icon that allows to tweak the monitor settings, but I don't see any power management functions.
Is there some power management settings I am missing? Or...?

Check Bios and Windows settings for both computers to avoid Suspend Mode or Power Saving Mode.

I went and disabled a power management BIOS setting on the P3. Initially it seemed better, being that the original problem seemed to be with switching to the P4.
But now, it is giving me the "DPMS/Going to suspend" message primarily when I switch to the P3...
There are more video BIOS settings - but I don't want to tinker without a consult.
I am wondering if this is happening because this is a cheap data switch box...
