|Of course XP will run slowly - you only have 256MB RAM! And if you have any crappy, bloated software installed (Norton or McAfee are prime examples) or a lot of things pre-loading at startup (instant messengers, iTunes, Quicktime, Google, camera/scanner/printer software, etc), it will only make matters worse. You need to do is lean out your system as much as possible, then you need to get more RAM, lots more RAM.|
As for the F1 or F2 at startup, which one do you press? You obviously have a problem with secondary devices, but you haven't provided enough info for us to help you with that. If could be as simple as having no secondary devices attached but the secondary controller is enabled & searching for them.
