To anyone that may be interested...CompUSA has a MadDog 250W PSU on sale this week for $2 after rebate. It's just a basic single fan unit, has an on/off rocker switch & a peak output of 300W. It has the square 4-pin ATX12V1 plug & weighs in at 3.5 lb. Here's the rail specs for the "big 3":

+3.3v = 16A
+5v = 25A
+12v = 16A

Good replacement unit for older systems. And in case you're wondering, yes, I did buy one...lol

What would be the physical size of that psu since you do mention buying one?

I know my poor ol hp takes one that's 5W x 2.5H x 4D.

That's a microATX PSU...the MadDog is a standard ATX

No joke? My 4600 psu died a few days ago! Replaced the 250W it came with with a 350W. Running smooth.

No time for love, Dr. Jones!

I have a Dell 4600 and it has 250W PSU. I like to install a 350W PSU for upgrading to a high power consumption video card.

I have read Dell 4600 requires special connectors. What PSU brands and models can be installed in Dell 4600?

Thanks in advance.
