I want to know if this is enough power 250w for my machine.

It came with my Dell :(

Specs:
p4
2.4ghz
512 ram
dvd drive
burner
geforce 4200
soundblaster card

I am not sure what other specs I would need to post for an answer here but if I am missing something important please let me know. If I need to get a new power supply can you make a recommendation? The cpu by my house said just bring my old one in and he will make sure the new one fits my case. He recommended a 400w. I am not sure I can even do this myself. Still learning. Thanks

250w is enough, but kind of pushing the power supply. If you put your hand by the exhaust fan, and the air coming out is hot, i mean hot air, then maybe it's time. I would recommend a 350-550w, since you'll probably be upgrading parts in the future. As for recommendation, if you want a cheap PSU, go on ebay, if you want quality and want to spend the money, Enermax and Antec make excellent PSUs.
