Is it possible to upgrade USB 1.0 to USB 2.0 with a plug in that plugs into the USB 1.0? I dont want to open up my machine and start removing and switching things around if you know what I mean.

Hi,
The short answer is no. If your machine came with USB 1, then you are stuck with it unless you purchase a USB 2.0 PCI card.

Like Ken said, you'd need a PCI card. It's no big deal to install, just unplug the power cord & open the case...find an unused PCI slot & remove the slot cover from the case that corresponds with that PCI slot. Install the card in the slot & screw it in place. Then close the case, plug in the power cord, & bootup...any necessary drivers will be on a disc included with the card. Windows will prompt you for the disc...

I have a problem, my computer has 2 USB port on the back, which are built in the mother board (Pentium I - Intel Triton Rev 2), and i use then with an HP 3200C Scanner without problems. recently i plugged in an Sony DSC S85 digital camera, but the computer doesn't recognize it; i've installed the camera drivers, but still nothing; i've even unplugged the scanner an nothing happened, the camera works on other computers; also i've tried to intall a compact flash card reader (for another digital camera) and the computer doesn't recognize it. How can i solve this problem?, does it have something to do with the version of the USB ports?.
