Guys, (and Girls),
I have just bought an ASUS Maximus Formula motherboard with twin PCI-e express 16 slots. I also have 2 MSI N9600GT video cards with 512M each. Everthing works fine with Vista Ultimate service pack 1, except I cant get the 2 cards to work together. Device manager sees the 2 cards but I still only get 512M of ram and no differences when I remove one of the cards. I have one cable from one card going to the HDMI connector on the 28 inch monitor. Do I need to link the 2 cards externally with cables or should windows do it through the MoBo. I have an 850 watt power supply and plenty of cooling. All help to get these 2 cards working together would be greatly appreciated.

ATI cards have something called crossfire that will allow what you are talking about. I don't believe your cards will support it.
The above is second hand information.....If they were wrong then so am I.

Your motherboard only supports ATI Crossfire, you need an motherboard that supports nVidia's SLI. Your options are to swap your motherboard for one that supports SLI or swap your current cards for a pair of ATI cards that support Crossfire.
