Comment: Hi I hope you can help me. I installed 2 HDD's both with XP on. The first HDD was already on the PC and i added the second without changing any jumpers etc. I then took out the second HDD and am now just using the original HDD but i am missing the C drive and applications and utilities are not working properly? Does any one have any idea what i should do.

Reply: (edit)Oh yes and also the original HDD is not shown in the system device manager. The system device manager is still showing the second HDD which i have taken out.

Reply: (edit)I'm not sure I understand what you DID. You had a HDD with a WINXP OS and applications installed. You added another HDD as slave and it had WIN XP on it. You removed the slave and now your original WIN XP HDD won't run its applications?

Reply: (edit)The original works with most programs but will not install things such as anti virus utilities and some programs are not running properly.

Reply: (edit)When i added the second HDD this was where the OS was booted and the original became the secondary i suppose. So when i took the one that i added out and restarted it booted from the original but does not have a c drive it has an f drive instead where the c used to be.

Reply: (edit)If you added the second XP after installing the drive behind the first drive all the boot files are on the original C: drive. XP always puts the boot files on C: regardless of where you install the O/S. http://computervitals.com/
