I've installed a 2nd hard drive and partitioned it to install different opp systems.
At the moment The origianl hard drive is on a channel of its own and MASTER
The CD/RW and 2nd hard disk share another channel with the hard disk as Slave

Nope. Both HDD should be on the same IDE cable. The CDROM that is on the cable with the other HDD is going to slow it down. This is how it works. Devices that share the same cable will slow down to the slowest device. No matter what. So. For instance. If you new HDD is ATA 133, and your CDROM is say, oh...ATA 33. Guess what's going to happen. So. Leave your HDD jumpered as slave and move it to the same IDE cable as your other HDD. Or. Ideally. Buy a PCI IDE controler card and hook your second HDD to it and jumper it as master. That way if ones slow than the other. You won't take a performance hit. Good Luck.
