i have 2 dsls and want to hook em up in 2 differnt rooms to avoid a router and all the network cables and what not but i have 2 computers i wanna hook to it

Well hooking up 2 boxes to one line would still require running wires everywhere. Why not get a wireless router?

i am trying to do it as cheap as possible and i already have all the wires and what not and its in 2 differnt rooms.....

Two different DSL modems will not work on the same line, at least at the same time. You might be able to get it to work by physically unplugging one while the other is in use. But that depends on your ISP and how they check the modem being used on the line. If they register the MAC address of the modem, you can not just switch modems without them resetting the connection or leaving everything powered off over night, just so you can switch.
It would work if you just used one modem and moved it between the two systems when you needed it. That way you would not have to worry about unplugging the other one or have to have the connection reset by the ISP.
But a single modem and a $50 Router with a long Ethernet cable would make life a lot better as it would allow you to use both systems at the same time and never have to move anything around.
I am sure you do not want to pay for a second phone line and a second DSL account just to use the second modem.

I just picked up a US Robotics Broadband Router (model 8003) for $30 Canadian. It works great, I can hook up 4 computers to it to access the net through my ADSL modem. Plugged it in and had to contact my phone company to register it, but other than that it works great. Built in firewall, the router sits between the ADSL modem and the computers, so you have a network and Internet gateway for all systems.

I had the same question, so I called my ISP and asked about using 2 modems rather than running a horribly long ethernet cable from my pc and using it as the server. The tech from the ISP said that using 2 modems at the same time on the same DSL line would actually cause them to cancel each other out and neither would work. That's no good for anybody!! Hope that helps some. I am new to this forum stuff.
