Hi guys, I'm having some problems with my cpu and ram. My cpu amd athlon 3400+ 754 socket rated at 2.4 Ghz but run at 2.2 real time. problem is that its running at 1.99 Ghz. I have 2 sticks of 512 mb of ram, total to 1k mb. but its only running at 888 mb, I have a feeling its my PSU but not sure. could be my mobo. any help would be apperciated.

Is this by any chance a laptop, If so the CPU is probably being slowed down to conserve power. You can override this but it will reduce battery life and make the laptop run hotter.
BTW: 1k mb = 1GB

There's more than one version of the 3400+. Some run at 2.2GHz, some run at 2.4GHz.

Have you checked your BIOS settings to make sure the CPU multiplier & CPU reference clock are set correctly?

1024MB RAM - 888MB = 136MB. Seems like a weird number, but are you using onboard video? What do you have the "shared memory" set at?

And part of your system memory (128Mb) is being used by your onboard video. That's normal operation too.
