168 pin or 184 pin? RAM

Specs: windows xp, 2.4ghz, 248 ram

hi this may sound stupid but how do i know how meny pins my ram has im looking to get the same type of ram that i have alrdy and in the store it has 2 choices 168 pin and 184 pin i have pc2700 ram.

i think its 184 pin but im not sure.

184 pin ram is DDR ram...168 is standard sd ram

Here's a link to some jpgs of modules.

168 pin will have two gaps in the pins and 184 will have one. For your 2.4 gig machine it'll probably be the 184 DDR.

Go to Crucial.com & use their memory configurator. All you have to do is select your make & model from the menu(s), then it will display what will work. Then use that info to buy your RAM at a local store or online
