Solved 12 ibook with problem with connecting to power cord socket?

Specs: Mac os 10.4, Mac 1 gig

My beloved 12 inch Ibook,Bella, is having problems. Two years ago this computer wouldn't start for me at all. The repairman said it need a new motherboard. I put her away with a sigh. When my macbook pro had problems,I pulled out Bella and inadvertently pushed her reset button. She started up and worked like a charm for two months. She was working so well I increased her hard drive,100 gig, and had a dvd drive put in. She worked even better for a month and then the indicator light showed she was on battery even when plugged in. If I pushed the cord in at the socket it worked properly. Yesterday she wouldn't start at all again.
Today I pushed the reset button after changing to a different battery and a different power cord. She started up again but still had the problem with the cord. She wouldn't recharge until I twisted the power cord a little. Is the problem the battery, cord ,socket or a deeper problem in the computer? One of my favorite games,Ancient Quest of Saqarrah is on this computer and I would like to keep her going.I have other mac lap tops but this one is my favorite.
She has 10.4 on her with 1 gig ram and a 1.33 processor.

There could be a break in one of the wires in the power cord, and twisting it temporarily makes a good connection where it's broken. The cable itself can't be replaced on it's own so that means buying a new a/c adapter which of course will have a new cable on it,

My guess that there was never anything wrong with the motherboard.

Whenever you move something and it brings things into life that is where the trouble lies (or it is something very close by). Sounds like the power cord to me, as given.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

I have tried more than one power cord but they were all used. I will get a new one.
I hope that works. The power cord that didn't work in Bella worked ok in my 15 inch Ibook.

If it's not the cord it is something near where you moved it, so it could be a plug and socket problem for instance.
