Zynga games not loading on Windows XP anymore

September 13, 2010 at 03:18:04
Specs: Windows XP

We have three Windows XP computers and one Windows 7 computer, all on the same broadband connection. Since yesterday, on Facebook, Zynga games (such as FrontierVille, Treasure Isle, and Cafe World) will not load on any of the XP computers. Other games (such as Playfish games) load fine. On our Windows 7 computer, the Zynga games will load. On the XP computers, we use three different browsers (Firefox, Chrome, IE) and none of them will load those Zynga games. I have cleared my cache and my Flash cache, made sure Flash Player is up to date, made sure Java is up to date. How can I fix this problem?

Do you enjoy having spyware on your machines?

Thank you, but that response wasn't helpful, and I have Trend Micro antivirus software. In the meantime I found that the problem was that my wireless router was making the connection too slow to play those games. Have not yet figured out what to do about that other than not using the router.

Hello- Hope you see this. We have same issue only worse! The 64b Win7 LT doesn't work well, either. 2 weeks ago, the games started acting up w/8Mb/s IP cable service, so we increased to 25Mb/s. Our provider brought out a docsis 3.0 router/modem and we still can't play our facebook/zynga game apps. We are getting a 28-29 Mb/s signal, however, in task manager our cpu usage is banging 100% @ 29 processes(XP SP3). The wave on the performance tab is highly erratic, too. The cable company sent a tech out to look at the router and he says everything is fine. But, when I call their tech support and they bring up their running data log we are told that only 1 of the 4 ports is configured internally. I don't get it- the 4 ethernet ports externally all function, as we have tried every conceivable combination. Could you please help us with your results? We also get these redirect notices when clicking on the game(s) to load. Thanks a bunch!

what is the date on your Trend Micro antivirus definitions?

keep in mind that antivirus won't always catch spyware and adware, they're focused more on Viruses and Trojans.

i've also had good success with Malwarebytes. download, install, UPDATE, and run free version 1.46 from www.malwarebytes.org.
