Im trying to play X-wing Alliance but I just cant get into it because the Music starts skipping at random times. I found another topic on it, but it provided no answers whatsoever.
All my drivers are up to date (unless something came out last week). It passes everything with flying colors on the system tests that come with the game.
Any ideas? Or is this game not meant to be enjoyed?

Try right click on the game icon and select properties and there should be a compatibility tab, try running it in windows xp sp2 compatibility mode.

Ok I clicked properties and looked at compatibility.
I can shoose from Win 95, Win 98/me, NT 4.0 and Win 2000. XP is not on the list.

experiment and see which one is better. I would think either windows 98 or windows 2000 should probably do fine. If not then knock it down to 95

Ok, I started with Windows 95 compatibility and the game just immediately crashed every time I opened it. So that clearly doesnt work.
I retried with Win 98 compatibility mode and, while the logo scene at the very start is skippy, the game play goes off without a hitch. I just let it run for about 5 hours the other day while I was out and when I got back the music was playing perfect.
I have not watched any of the other cut scenes to know how well it plays them. I hope it isnt as bad as the Lucas Arts logo gag.
