Does anyone has any article on Xbox360? Thinking to get one. May someone send me the article about PS3 if have? And how about the comment and feedback for those Xbox360 and PS3 user? Thanks.
The PS3 would be the better choice. I know many people may say "well the best gaming console version of the PS3 is 600 dollars vs the best gaming console version of the Xbox 360 which is 400 dollars", but in reality the Xbox 360 will end up costing you more in then long run then the PS3.
As we all know the PS3 is more powerful then the Xbox 360, but that's not the only thing.
Here are some major diff between the PS3 and Xbox 360 top gaming console versions.
1. The PS3 for 600 dollar comes with a 60 gig hardrive vs. Xbox 360 for 400 dollar that comes with a 20 gig hard drive.
2. PS3 for 600 dollar comes with built in Wi-Fi vs. the Xbox 360 for 400 dollar comes with no Wi-Fi and to add a Wi-Fi adaptor will set you back 60 bucks.
3. Both the PS3's 500 and 600 dollar versions comes with Blu-Ray and an HDMI built in to the system vs. the Xbox 360 where you have to buy the add-on HD-DVD player for 200 bucks with no HDMI connection on it.
4. PS3 online is free vs. Xbox 360 Live which charges a 50 dollar fee per year to play online.
Lets add up the total cost. With everything mentioned above, the PS3 is still 600 dollars vs. the 400 dollar Xbox 360 + the 60 dollar ad-on Wi-Fi adaptor + the 200 dollar HD-DVD ad-on + The 50 dollar per year Xbox 360 Live, which comes to 710 dollars. Not to mention the additional cost that Xbox 360 live will cost you if you continue to use it for each year after that.
The irony of your well articulated post is that it shines some much deserved spotlight on the 360 and somewhat emphasizes its being the better built console, considering the fact that it is even going almost head-to-head with the PS3, even though it debuted roughly a year prior.
And regarding Blue-Ray and HD-DVD, that technology still has a bit to go before it becomes that much a compelling factor with regards to what to go for and anyhow what good is the Blue-Ray or even HD-DVD if you don't have the appropriate TV for it - huh?
The PS3 may seem superior package-wise, but strip away the razzle-dazzle and it doesn't take very long to realize much of it's strenght is albeit only on paper, and anyhow - I'm sure you are aware the hardware is nothing without the software, afterall that is where the entertainment really is and pretty much the X-Box's turf.
The free online gaming deal with the PS3 may be enticing but that's about where the fun ends, XBox Live is an already successful "paid" campaign & it pretty much boils down to what is proven to work even though it costs and what is free but ominous and as such I don't see many people having a problem putting their money where their mouth is.
Finally, it may seem like a cut & dried decision to go with the PS3, and heck it should, since it just came out and as a matter of fact should be far more superior but unfortunately it isn't and that is why I feel the 360 is the boss.
Well people said the same about the Xbox when Microsoft came out with their system a year later and we soon found out that power didn't mean anything unless you had the software to back it up, this is where the PS3 differs from the Xbox. The PS3 will have the software to back the PS3 up, Xbox didn't, because it was a new technology at the time so not too many gaming companies jumped onboard until years later where as The PS series has been around for years and has became a solid choice for game developers which will continoue on to the PS3.
The thing is though regardless if your TV can't support it now at least when you buy a new HDTV with HDMI on your PS3 will be ready for it. Where as the Xbox 360, if you upgrade your TV to an HDTV with HDMI your Xbox HD DVD can't take advantage of it.
I enjoy the PS3 online, because it's straight to the point. You can surf the web and play games against people online, which is the same as what the Xbox 360 Live does only free. I think more people would rather want something free then want having to pay for it. The majority of console gamers that go online are there to play against other people online not to surf the web or create t-shirts to sell to other people online. So if playing games online is mostly what you are going to do with your console online then the PS3 online for free is a lot more inticing then Xbox 360 Live that you have to pay 50 dollars a year to do the samething.
Thanks Cobra for a very comprehensive explanation on the advantages of PS3 against Xbox. And again for Sabertooth for the 'fightback' for Xbox. As I guess there should be a lot of gamers are looking forward for all the pros and cons before making decision on which console to be chosen. So, I welcome other feedbacks from those PS3 users and Xbox users to help us to choose between these PS3 or Xbox. Thanks.
The bulk of my argument on this console deal is that the XBOX is responsible for Sony's attempt to come up with a solid PS3 package.
If it hadn't surfaced, thereby raising the bar, console gamers would have gotten the short end of the stick from Sony, regardless of whatever it had to offer.
I also like to think I'm not the only one that's not so much charmed by the built-in Blue-Ray player simply because of Sony's (PS1 & PS2 drive) track record, maybe third time will be a charm as they say - but I doubt many PS3 owners will find replacing their $600 PS3 trivial *if* & when the Blue-Ray drive dies not long thereafter.
At least with the XBOX, you'll have the option to simply replace just the drive and move on.
As to the HDMI on the PS3, I suspect even Sony isn't counting on that as a selling point - hence the reason they refuse to include the cable with it, hoping if you are one of the few that will need it at this time, you shouldn't have a problem paying $50 for it, and should you have an unfortunate situation, you won't be quick to blame Sony if the problem just so happens not to be with your PS3.
Sony's status as being the veteran is both its strenght and its weakness, XBOX shouldn't hold a candle to the PS3, yet it does & in a big way too, thus making it a much better investment.
Ok just two things to back up X360. One I don't want to pay for Live either so do some searching on the net there are other places to can go and don't have to pay anything IE: http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/ thats just one do some digging. Also since the x360 is basically a computer I think it even has a AGP slot I don't see why in the future you wouldn't be able to beef it up a little. Just some thoughts. Not sure about the upgraded hardware since this is something that would have been do able with the original Xbox but you had to go to third parties for upgraded RAM and the such.
I'm not so sure if it wasn't for Microsoft, Sony wouldn't have rasied the bar, because you have Nintendo. Even though Nintendo isn't known for their great graphics like Microsoft and Sony are, they have held a nice cunck of the market due to the fact they they are affordable and they have a wide range of game titles to choose from. Even when Sony tried to 1up Nintendo in the handheld market with better graphics and other features that the Nintendo handhelds didn't have, Nintendo still won, because of their game titles that Sony couldn't compete with in the handheld market.
Well sabertooth you can say that with any home threater system device, if the part dies then so does everything else with it. I mean, other then pc's the vast majority of any electronic system you buy is built into the system. Xbox was the same way, it didn't have a seperate detachable drive to play DVD's. So I mean the same could be said with the Xbox as well if you wanted to compare it to PS1 and PS2 having their Rom devices built in.
To me what good is it having a portable device that cost that much when it doesn't even have a 20 dollar HDMI connection to it for future use?
Sony is very much pushing Blu-Ray, they have invested a ton of money into it and that was one of their main selling points for the PS3 at E3 last year. I mean considering how much a standard Blu-Ray player cost right now the PS3 looks like a bargin.
The Xbox 360 turned me off in 2 ways
the Xbox 360 doesn't support a lot of their older Xbox titles, only a select few and that's due to the Nvidia and Microsoft fallout. Still, Bill could have coughed up the extra money and supported all the titles if he wanted to without denting his billionaire wallet. Not only that, but you need a hard drive and an emulator program to support the few Xbox titles it did support? so that means people that bought the standard Xbox 360 version would have to shell out some more money to buy a hard drive just to play a select few of Xbox games on the Xbox 360.
Microsoft is starting to take a diff direction with their online that I don't care for that much. I bought a console to do mostly 2 things watch HD movies on my home Threater system and play games. I don't need a webTV type of setup, when I have a pc that's a lot better equiped for surfing the web then a console, in which is one of the many reasons why I have a pc in the first place. PS3 has an online web surfing option, but it's no where near as good as a pc. I tried it and I don't like it, but then again consoles were never made to act like a web surfing pc.

I agree with that kind of saying.....
As I have a pc at home that will do for those surfing and works while PS3 or Xbox360 for me to play game and watch movie.
I don't want to use those to surf net and other else...... And I am sure that concept goes for others, right?
It is already stated Playstation, is for you to play, right? :)
Well I love the PS3 for not only the reasons I mentioned above, but the piece of mind that I will get knowing that the Sony console brand will be around for years to come based on its solid rep. The only drawback from the PS3 is the 500 to 600 dollar tag which is out of the casual gamers reach right now. With that said, it's still the best console overall in terms of it's capabilites imo.
On a side note there hasn't been hardly anything reported on the PS3 in terms of problems from either gaming sites or consumors so far which is a big plus for Sony. Unlike the Xbox 360 and it's whole heating issues last year when it first came out.
all the technical aspetcs aside, please take into consideration the games you might wish to play. if you want to play the Dead or Alive trilogy or Gears of War, the Xbox is your choice. On the other hand, if you are a Tekken or Final Fantasy fan, you need the PS
