ok I was wondering if I bought the correct cable, would my 17 inch CRT monitor be able to support HD gaming, if so what would it be able to support?
Monitor make is: Compaq S700

Hey, I think it depends on the connections on the monitor, HD cables are different to standard cable connections.
Will you just be using it for an xbox? If you are your best bet would be to buy a LCD TV that way you can set your xbox up to it and you can also have your pc hooked up to it depending on whether you have a suitable graphics card.
Hope thats enough info for you, im pretty rough when it comes to things like that but i guess something is better than nothing.

im in to xbox and paly alot of halo including goin to all the tournaments and ii dont know if what your talking about is a computer screenbut if so dont computer screens lag SOOOOOO much when playin xbox games(at least halo)

If you have an LCD screen it will be ok. as long as it has at the most a 10ms response time. if its a crt monitor you definatly be better off with an LCD TV i just bout myself one and you can plug anything into it! stick with you CRT for gaming on your PC. If you use a normal TV for your XBOX, games like Dead Rising and Gears of War have sooo much detail taken out of it so the TV will be able to cope with it. Plus you will hardly be able to read the writing on the screen.
My best advice is get yourself a good LCD tv. Not Plasma because over time gravity gets a hold of the plasma and squashes the picture.
Hope that been helpful.
