I was wondering was resolution the xbox 360 ran at default without a hdtv.

I know the original xbox ran games at 640X480 with fsaa but I was curious about the 360 without an hdtv.

Yes you have to adjust it yourself or else it stays on SD.

PS3 with sfotware update 1 finds the best screen resolution for your TV automaticly. I'm not aware if Xbox 360 has released and software updates that will do the same.

Nah, I wasn't promoting ps3 on this topic. I was just simply saying that i'm not aware of any setting that the xbox 360 has in terms of it adjusting the resolution to the best resolution on your TV automaticly, like the ps3 can with software update 1.

You're from Australia I take it. Have you tried the following places....

Kmart

David Jones
Game Traders

The PS3 hasnt been released in Australia yet, your best bet is to pre order one from EB Games and you can pay it off before you receive it. I'm guessing that they are going to be pretty dang expensive when the get here. Many people are paying up to $10,000(AU) to buy a PS3 off ebay to be one of the first with a PS3. Those people are idiots...

But anyway, the 360 does 720p (1280x720) and 1080i (1920x1080) for SD I'm guessing its the same as the Xbox because you cant really go much higher than 640x480 on a standard TV without the picture going very blurry.
