Hi guys. I am getting an used x1950xt 256mb for $150 Canadian here. Is it worth it? The 8600gts costs atleast $200 here and cant compete with the x1950xt in almost any game but it has dx 10 which isnt much good if it cant run a game well. I am on a budget rite now so I cant go for the 8800gts. Any advice? Thanks

Its worth it. I suggest that you do not go for 8600GTS as a replacement for X1950XT. X1950XT only suitable to be replaced by 8800GTS. Its not worth to have a DX10 feature ready when you cant use the feature because of lag when you turn it on right? Better stick with X1950XT and get the bargain price, but as Sabertooth saying what card are you using. Sometimes its worth saving for the bigger daddy than spending.

I got the X1950XT but I had a hell of a time troubleshooting it. It was running at 85C idle and went to 118C under load before it crashed. Turns out my case was blocking the exhaust from its massive heatsink. Temps are down to normal now and it runs great. Thanks guys. After benching it all day, I'd rather get this than an 8600gts anyday. :D Thanks again.
