x1600pro not working in my pc

sorry jam got your message after buying the x1600pro. i have installed it only to remove it again there was is no sound what so ever comming out of the pc to sugest the computer is booting up the screen displays no signal for a short time before turning black. i can hear the card fan on:(. the x1600pro is agp x8 my pc is agp x4 incase this makes a difference please healp!!!

Does the card require a connection to the power supply? You'll usually see that kind of behavior when you forget to hook it up to your PSU.

yes me and my brother have pluged it in we are sure it is the right way but then again you never no we did try at least 4 times we have removed the old card a placed in the new one attached the 4pin lead to the card and attached the other lead the hard drive power supply. per haps its a dell compadability thing tho i have recintly upgraded the psu to 410w. is there any other reasons please and thanks sn :)

Its a Dell PSU so i wouldnt be supprised if it is the problem, they bring out dodgey shat all the time...

Actually, it's a Dell PSU made by PC Power & Cooling...& they are one of the best!

perhaps i have the wrong power supply leads going from the psu to the hard drive, disk drive and the cd player there is no indication of spicific power to each set of wires.
